Amenities

The Louvre has a wide range of aids and amenities to ensure your visit is fruitful, from floor plans, audio guides, and program listings to cafés, media centers, and a bookstore.

Loan of Equipment

Walking sticks, strollers, and wheelchairs are available free of charge to visitors who may have difficulty getting around the museum.

Equipment is generally loaned in exchange for a piece of ID (or, in the case of folding chairs, on presentation of a Louvre copyist's card). Loaned equipment may not be taken out of the museum.

Coat and Luggage Checks

Coat and luggage checks are located under the Pyramid (Hall Napoléon) and are open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and until 10 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. Visitors with tickets or passes may use the checks free of charge. Checked objects must be picked up the same day. Coats and bags checked at the Porte des Lions coat check must be picked up before 5:30 p.m.
Rules regarding the use of the cloakroom are given in Articles 11 to 19 of the Visitor regulations.

For safety and comfort reasons, voluminous bags are not allowed inside the museum galleries (Visitor regulations, Article 8).
Visitors are therefore advised not to bring large bags or cases to the Louvre. Find out about the availability of the museum’s coat and bag checks before your visit. Information: +33 (0)1 40 20 53 17
