Exhibition The Louvre invites Pierre Boulez - Oeuvre: Fragment
from November 6, 2008 to February 9, 2009
Drawings, musical scores and selected texts
The exhibition “Pierre Boulez. Oeuvre: Fragment” broaches aspects of the aesthetic autonomy of the sketch and its evolution in the modern era.
Drawing parallels between graphic, literary and musical works of the 19th and 20th centuries, part of the exhibition examines the methodology of the creative act and questions the very process of the genesis of a work. It explores “artistic families” like Pierre Boulez’s and presents, among others, the works of Ingres, Cézanne, Kandinsky, Klee, Picasso, Wagner, Stravinski and Mallarmé.
Organized by: Carel Van Tuyll and Marcella Lista, musée du Louvre.
