Exhibition Masterpieces of Islamic Art from the Aga Khan Museum
from October 5, 2007 to January 7, 2008
As a preview to the opening of the Aga Khan Museum in Toronto, this exhibition presents a selection of masterpieces from the Aga Khan remarquable collection of Islamic art.
Several folios from the most famous 16th-century Iranian manuscript, Shahnama (Book of Kings) of Shah Tahmasp, two wonderfully preserved medieval garments and diverse forms of calligraphy attest to the beauty and breadth of Islamic art from Spain to India.
Organized by: Sophie Makariou, chief curator, Department of Islamic Art, Musée du Louvre.
