Home>Exhibitions & Events>Events>Installation - Loris Gréaud
Acknowledgments:
Loris Gréaud's installation under the pyramid has been made possible by the patronage of Mercedes-Benz France.
After Tony Cragg and Wim Delvoye, the Louvre has commissioned an artist to create a monumental sculpture to be placed at the Museum entrance, beneath Ieoh Ming Pei's pyramid.
This time round Loris Gréaud has come up with an artistic double-header: a mysterious, ghostly sculpture whose presence-absence irradiates the emptiness of the pyramid while referencing one of the museum's masterpieces; and as part of a joint venture project with the Centre Pompidou, another monumental sculpture will be presented in the Forum there. The artist's project is a meditation on statuary: the plinth, the ceremony, and the moment of unveiling.
Organized by: Marie-Laure Bernadac, assisted by Pauline Guelaud.
Practical information
The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
