The Louvre Bookstore Beneath the PyramidIndoors
With its vast selection of books, and an extensive range of artworks (cast reproductions, prints, engravings, etc.), this is not only one of Europe's largest art bookshops, but also a great place to find and buy gifts.
Located beneath the Pyramid, the Louvre bookstore/gift shop is spread over two levels.
The ground floor features a comprehensive range of publications relating to collections and temporary exhibitions at French and international museums (specialist art books, exhibition catalogs, inventories, illlustrated albums, and guidebooks, plus special interest magazines, CD-Roms, and videos).
There is also a wide selection of publications related to the Louvre museum, its history, collections, and exhibitions.
On the upper floor you will find an extensive range of jewelry, gifts, scarves, and casts of works on display in the world's greatest museums. The "Chalcographie" section (prints and engravings) sells prints issued by the Réunion des Musées Nationaux, taken from the museum's collection of original copper plates dating from the 17th century to the present day, including architectural views, landscapes, seascapes, botanical prints, portraits, religious and decorative subjects, and contemporary art. All are produced by hand on a copper plate press and bear the stamp of the "Chalcographie du Louvre."
I bought wonderful Retrospective poster when I visited The Louve. Is there anyway to buy these posters on Line?
Do you carry the amazing book entitled "Mona Lisa Reimagined"? If not, I definitely recommend that you do because it is an amazing book, with a selection of over 300 different artists' interpretations of Mona Lisa, including of course the original artwork.
Looks like no one at the store reads these comments...There are no answers to the questions.
I have an embossed chalcography of St. Anne with the Virgin and Child. Is there a way to determine the date of print and the number of copies produced? Thanks so much.
In April the Louvre will stage a major exhibition on the Thracian civilization and archaeology in Bulgaria. There are very few books in English on this subject. My husband and I published "The 3000-Year-Old Hat. New Connections with Old Europe: the Thraco-Phrygian World" in Vancouver, Canada, which was the first book in English dedicated to the Thracian history and culture published in North America. We can send you a copy for you to review and if you find it suitable for the Bookstore, we can send you a package of books for sale during the exhibition.
Hoping to hear from you soon,
I purchased a print, etching of engraving, at the Louvre. It was Albrecht Durer self portrait dated 1498. Cab you please tell me more about it, please?
Hello I purchased a beautiful Marie Antoinette umbrella from your store 2 years ago and am wanting to purchase another one if possible?

When visiting the Louvre earlier this year, I saw a 2014 calendar in the bookstore with a cover of "Le Chat Noir". I would like to purchase that calendar for my granddaughter. Is it possible to purchase from you or get the publisher name? Thank You, Christine Abood
Hello, I bought a gold bracelet with leaves on it when I was there last year, wondering if I could get a second one?
I purchased a puzzle in your gift shop in July of the crowning of Napoleon. One of the pieces is missing and because I live in Canada the company who made the puzzle will not replace the missing piece. Please advise how I may get this piece.
Thank you for your assistance.
Am wanting to know what the best books to buy would be. There's so many types of books out there. I just want a good book that tells me about the building and some of the art and sculptures. A book about the Egyptian stuff would be great too. Any idea's would be greatly appreciated.
Vous pouvoir me donne s'il vous plaît un contact pour le département d'achat ; je représente une entreprise qui traite considérablement avec Tate et les autres musées de Royaume-Uni. Merci.
