Publishing and Audiovisual Productions
The scale and diversity of the Louvre's collections address much of the history of humanity and of its artistic production. The museum's publishing activity across all media aims to make this extraordinary wealth of content accessible to as many people as possible.
Loyal to its mission of public service, the publisher Musée du Louvre Éditions has participated, since 1988, in one of the museum's main missions: the spread of knowledge about its collections, a universal heritage spanning eight thousand years of history. Its catalog, which contains nearly four hundred titles and has included since 2007 "Grande Galerie, le Journal du Louvre," a magazine featuring the latest museum news, boasts an extensive variety of publications.
For a complete list of the books published by Musée du Louvre Editions, which include numerous publications in English and other languages, have a look at our online catalogue (available in English).

All the Louvre in 156 pages – that is the aim of this unique guide to the world's largest museum. The history of the palace spanning over eight centuries is told in detail, punctuated with significant events and key figures. Its architecture is analyzed with supporting drawings and plans to help visitors follow and understand all of the stages of its development and decipher its facades. It also provides an exploration of art history through 140 masterpieces and accompanying notes. Last but not least, the book guides visitors through 18 remarkable places, from the Salle Saint Louis in the Medieval Louvre to the Cour Visconti, home to Islamic art, not to mention the apartments of Napoleon III.
