This display features 18th-century sculpture from the reign of Louis XVI, portraits, and marble statues of noted contemporary figures in French public life (the so-called ''grands hommes de la France'') commissioned by the comte d'Angiviller, Superintendant of Buildings from 1776 to 1787.

The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Night opening until 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays
 
Closed on the following holidays: January 1, May 1, December 25
