Built between 1595 and 1610, this gallery originally connected the Louvre to the Tuileries palace. The engaged columns along the sides were added during the Empire by Percier and Fontaine. Shortened by a third during the Second Empire, the gallery now houses collections of Italian painting.

The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Night opening until 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays
