Schedule of Room Closures

The rooms of the eight departments of the Musée du Louvre are open every day except Tuesday, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. (9:45 p.m. on Wednesday and Friday late-night openings).

Due to the breadth of its collections and transfers of artworks, the museum cannot maintain all of its rooms open every day. The schedule of room closures (available for downloading below) indicates which rooms are open and closed until December 31, 2013.

Below is the detailed list of rooms currently closed for renovation.

Near Eastern Antiquities

Rooms 12b to 19 (Sully wing, ground floor): closed every day until Fall 2013 during renovation works.
Rooms 20 and 21 (Sackler wing): closed from June 24 to October 31, 2013.

Islamic Art

Open every day except Tuesday.

Greek, Etruscan, and Roman Antiquities

Rooms 39 to 44 (Galerie Campana): closed on Thursdays.
Rooms 45 to 47 (Galerie Campana): closed every day until further notice.
Rooms 28 and 29: closed until August 6, 2013

Egyptian Antiquities

Open every day except Tuesday.
 

Decorative Arts

Rooms 8 to 20 (15th-17th century): closed on Friday nights and Saturdays.
Room 19 (15th-17th century): closed on August 8 and 9, 2013
Rooms 21 to 26 (15th-17th century): closed on Wednesday nights and Saturdays.
Rooms 27 to 32 (15th-17th century): closed on Friday nights and Saturdays.
Rooms 33-65 except room 46 (17th-18th century): closed until Fall 2013 during renovation works (the elevator in room 65 remains accessible).
Rooms 75 to 81 (19th-century furniture): closed on Thursdays, Friday nights and Sundays.
 

Paintings, Prints, and Drawings

Richelieu wing
Rooms 4 to 16 (Netherlands, Germany): closed on Mondays and Friday nights.
Rooms A to F (Flanders, Holland, Scandinavia, and Russia): closed on Thursdays and Friday nights.
Rooms 21 to 39 (Flanders, Holland, Scandinavia, and Russia): closed on Thursdays.

Denon wing
Rooms 15 to 25 and 27 to 31
(Spain, Italy 17th-18th century): closed on Wednesday nights, Thursdays,  Friday nights and Sundays.
Room 31: the icons usually exhibited in this room are not on display currently.

Sully wing
Rooms 25 to 35 (France): closed until Fall 2013 during renovation works.
A selection of French paintings is currently exhibited in rooms 17 and 24 (Richelieu wing, 2nd floor).
Rooms 36 to 49 (France): closed on Fridays.
 

Sculptures

Open every day except Tuesday.

History of the Louvre

Closed on Mondays, Thursdays, and Wednesday and Friday nights.
 

The East Mediterranean in the Roman Empire

Open every day except Tuesday.

Arts and Civilizations of Africa, Asia, Oceania, and the Americas

Closed on Wednesdays and Fridays.

Musée Eugène Delacroix

The museum is open every day except Tuesday, from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. (ticket windows close at 4:30 p.m.).

Practical information

The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Night opening until 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays
