With your comfort in mind, the Musée du Louvre offers a host of services to guarantee a quality visit.
A reception team at the main information desk located below the Pyramid is available to inform and advise you on museum news, services and operations.
Loan of Equipment
Walking sticks, strollers, and wheelchairs are available free of charge to visitors who may have difficulty getting around the museum.
Equipment is generally loaned in exchange for a piece of ID (or, in the case of folding chairs, on presentation of a Louvre copyist's card). Loaned equipment may not be taken out of the museum.
Cloakrooms and luggage rooms
The Musée du Louvre attaches great importance to visitor services and comfort. In that sense, we are constantly striving to improve and develop our facilities as often as required and as swiftly as possible.
As available space permits, visitors may store some of their personal effects in dedicated areas located beneath the Pyramid: Cloakroom and Luggage Room.
PLEASE NOTE: Starting 1st July 2014, any items that exceed cabin baggage dimensions (55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm) will no longer be accepted.
For this reason, we recommend that you avoid bringing bulky suitcases or bags with you to the museum.
Article 15 of the Visitor Regulations: “Cloakrooms and luggage rooms are made freely available to visitors for storing personal effects and notably clothing, walking sticks, umbrellas, and bags and luggage that do not exceed 55 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm – pockets, wheels, and handles included. Cloakrooms and luggage rooms are strictly reserved for visitors to the museum (permanent collections or temporary exhibitions) and auditorium spectators.”
Items may be deposited free of charge upon presentation of an admission ticket or justification of access to the museum. All items deposited must be collected the same day. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the museum for information prior to your arrival: +33 (0)1 40 20 53 17.
