Sculpting a human figure or group

A sculpture that shows a human figure from all sides is called a “sculpture in the round.”  It can be a solitary figure, a figure with an animal, or a group of several figures. Although such statues may resemble human bodies, they are not mere copies. A statue is first and foremost a combination of lines, planes and volumes. Sculpture has a grammar of its own; let’s take a look at the principal rules.
