The Department of Egyptian Antiquities research center accounts for a significant portion of the department's research activity. It specializes in documents that pertain to the objects in the department's collection.

MuseumPlus: database of 73,424 records
Artwork files: index of all of the department's artworks.
Documentary files: artwork files, subject-specific files, long-term loan files.
Photography collection: silver halide photographs: 25,000 negatives; 600 Ektachrome photographs; 18,000 slides; 25,000 digital photographs.
Archival collection: mainly composed of correspondence, archaeological excavation records, maps, and prints and drawings.


The focus of this specialized library is on the department's collection, with publications on Ancient Egyptian and Kushite civilizations, from the Mediterranean to the Sudan, from Prehistory to the Roman period. It also comprises a collection on Late Antiquity and Byzantine and Coptic Egypt.

Curators, art historians, university professors or researchers, conservators, museum professionals, and students in at least their 4th year of higher education on the recommendation of a professor
