Several construction projects are currently underway in the museum, significantly affecting the visitor experience in the Louvre’s most popular rooms. Consequently, visitors will no longer be able to access some artworks.

Tribute to I. M. Pei
The Musée du Louvre’s President-Director Jean-Luc Martinez and the entire staff of the museum wish to express their great sadness and deepest regret at the passing of I. M. Pei. A visionary architect who enjoyed an exceptionally rich and long career, Pei followed in the footsteps of acclaimed architects who have shaped the palace since the 12th century, leaving an indelible mark on the museum with his work that boldly took the Louvre into the modern era.

Enjoy an innovative museum experience at the Louvre’s Department of Egyptian Antiquities! State-of-the-art, fun-touse multimedia resources, developed for the ‘Louvre – DNP Museum Lab’ project, are available to help you understand the conventions of Egyptian art and decipher a funerary stela: the Stela of Sakherty.
Louvre - DNP Museum Lab - Masterpieces of Spanish Painting
Discover the collection of Spanish art in the Musée du Louvre thanks to the multimedia displays designed as part of the Louvre – DNP Museum Lab project. This interactive and fun approach gives you the keys to understanding masterpieces by Zurbarán, Murillo and Goya.

A new tour: "Sculpting the Body"
The museum's Touch Gallery presents themed displays that give the blind and visually impaired, as well as children and sighted visitors who wish to experience tactile exploration, the opportunity to touch casts of the museum's artworks. A new touch tour on the sculpted body will open on May 28.
The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Free admission on the first Saturday of each month
