Through the drawings collection of Darmstadt's Museum, the exhibition offers an anthology of the finest pieces of "Ecole Française", epitomized by Callot, Le Brun, Poussin , Watteau, Boissieu, from the early beginnings of classical ideal to its 18th century accomplishment.

This exhibition starts the Louvre's presentation of French drawings coming from foreign museums.

Organized by: Dominique Cordellier, Chief curator, and Federica Mancini, Department of Prints and Drawings, Musée du Louvre.
