Sully wing - 2nd floor - Room 901 - Carlos de Beistegui Donation
This room is devoted to the donation made by Carlos de Beistegui (Mexico, 1863–Biarritz, 1953). The donation was made in 1942 and the works entered the museum on the donor's death. This admirable collection of paintings consists chiefly portraits, and includes works by the 15th-century Burgundian Master, Hey, Rubens, van Dyck, Largillierre, Nattier, Drouias, Fragonard, Goya, David, Lawrence, Gérard, Ingres, Meissonnier, and Zuloaga. Carlos de Beistegui often followed the advice of the Louvre's curators when acquiring paintings that he was intending to donate to the museum.
The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Free admission on the first Saturday of each month
