Time slot booking recommended
We strongly advise you to book a time slot on www.ticketlouvre.fr to guarantee your admission to the museum; this also applies to free-admission visitors and museum card holders.
During off-peak times, there may also be a limited number of time slots for same-day visits available for booking at the museum. However, if you wish to guarantee your entry to the museum, we strongly advise booking your time slot in advance online.
Health Pass and Vaccine Pass
In accordance with French government announcements, as of March 14, 2022, a vaccine certificate is no longer mandatory to visit the Louvre museum.
As in all areas open to the public, we request that visitors practice social distancing and use the hand sanitiser dispensers at the entrance of the museum. We recommend wearing a mask during the duration of your visit.
Safety measures and advice
- Mask wearing is recommended while inside the museum. You must use the hand sanitiser dispenser before entering the museum. Social distancing rules and preventive measures must be respected in the museum.
- Independent tour guides are allowed to bring groups of up to 25 people. However, in order to respect social distancing measures, they will be required to use headsets and a microphone.
- Audio guides, wheelchairs, and pushchairs supplied by the Louvre are disinfected after each use.
- Museum’s restaurants and cafés : please note that opening times may be affected by the current situation, so we kindly invite you to check this information.

The Salle des États (where the Mona Lisa is displayed) will be entered and exited through separate doors.
