The Auditorium of the Louvre
Events at the Auditorium aim to complement and extend your visit at the Louvre. The varied programs range from lectures and symposia on archaeology, art history, and museum studies to shows, readings, films, and concerts.
Lecture and symposia series complement the exhibitions and cover diverse subjects in the fields of art history and museology. They focus on esthetic qualities, on a given time period or art movement, on famous artists from Antiquity to today, or on international news regarding museums and the challenges they face. The “Recent Developments in Archaeology” lecture series, the “Art on Stage” series, and the “Recent Developments in Research and Restoration” lecture series give a glimpse of the life of the Louvre’s collections through the prism of the museum’s work in art conservation and research.
The Louvre, a universal museum, is also open to contemporary art and invites today's most important artists to speak about their work and career at the Auditorium, following the commission of exhibitions or individual works.
