Groups & Schools General conditions for group visits

All group visits to the museum must be booked in advance. This enables us to schedule groups throughout the day, thereby avoiding overcrowding. Groups of up to 25 are admitted (20 for the Department of Decorative Arts and temporary exhibitions).

You can visit the Louvre as a self-guided group, organizing your tour as you see fit.
Or
You can follow a guided tour with one of the museum's official guides.

Groups at the Louvre are comprised of 7 to 25 visitors.
Groups are charged a flat rate.

Flat rates for groups

Flat rates are based on the number of visitors in your group:
- 7 to 10 visitors
- 11 to 15 visitors
- 16 to 20 visitors
- 21 to 25 visitors.
The accompanying tour guide approved by the Ministry of Tourism or Culture is not included in the visitor count for the group.

Visitors entitled to free admission or museum members who are part of a group of 25 people maximum are not included in the calculation for the flat rate, upon presentation of valid proof.

Reservations are required for visits as an independent group.

Free admission
Reservations are free for:
- School groups
- Groups of Louvre Jeunes cardholders
- Groups of students residing in the European Economic Area (EEA)
- Groups of teachers in training
- Groups of visitors with special needs
- Groups of job seekers, recipients of income support
- Groups visiting the Musée Delacroix

Groups of adults entitled to free admission or museum members
Reservation fee: €45

The flat rate includes a service (workshop, visit, themed tour, etc.) and admission to the museum.

VIP visit
VIP visit: €500
1.5-hour visit for a group of 15 maximum.
This service also includes VIP reception.
 

Practical information

The Louvre is open every day (except Tuesday) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Night opening until 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays
 
Closed on the following holidays: January 1, May 1, December 25
