Introduction
Right in the heart of Paris, the National Estate of the Louvre and the Tuileries hosts biodiversity that frequently goes unnoticed.
Visited by over thirty bird species, the Tuileries Garden plays an important role as a stopover point between the woodlands of the Bois de Vincennes and the Bois de Boulogne, along the ecological corridor of the Seine. Since 2023, the Public Establishment of the Musée du Louvre has been conducting surveys of the garden fauna and flora to identify the wild species present, and enhance appreciation of them among visitors. A visit to the Louvre gardens is an opportunity to (re)discover this extraordinary living and historical heritage and the wild nature it hosts.
