Groups & Schools General conditions for group visits

All group visits to the museum must be booked in advance for a specific time slot. Groups of 7 up to a maximum of 25 persons are admitted. There are two options for visiting the museum as a group:

1) Self-guided visit: a group accompanied by their own teacher, leader, or guide
2) Tour with an official Louvre guide

Prior to visiting, please check the schedule of room closures.

ACCESS

Via the Porte des Lions group reception area (map) if you are:
- a guide wishing to complete the necessary formalities
- a group with an official Louvre guide

Groups with their own guides can access the museum via the Passage Richelieu or Galerie du Carrousel entrances.

Groups with disabled visitors have priority access to the museum via the Pyramid entrance. Please note that the lift under the Pyramid is not currently able to accommodate motorized wheelchairs but our staff will be happy to assist.
You can call +33 (0)1 40 20 53 17 on the day of your visit for further information.

Groups are to comprise between 7 and 25 visitors (excluding the guide) and will be charged at a flat rate.

Rates for self-guided groups

Since January 1, 2018, the flat-rate system has been replaced by a calculation based on the actual number of paying participants. A group will thus pay for a specific number of tickets (€17 per ticket) along with a reservation fee of €70 to reserve the time slot.

After making a reservation, additional tickets may be purchased online or by telephone at €17 per ticket. Any additional tickets purchased at the museum will be charged a higher rate of €25.
Reserved time slots can also be changed by telephone.

Reservation is free for:
- school groups
- groups of teachers in training
- groups of visitors with disabilities
- groups of job seekers or people on income support
