Tax deductions
For French taxpayers: regardless of the amount of your donation, 66% of that amount can be claimed as a tax deduction (for up to 20% of your taxable income). For example, a donation of €100 costs, in reality, €34, allowing you to deduct €66 from your taxable income. If this deduction exceeds 20% of the donor's taxable income, the remainder can by carried over for the next five fiscal years.
‘Become a Patron!’ campaigns
Launched in 2010 to purchase The Three Graces by Lucas Cranach for the Louvre collections, Become a Patron! campaigns have become an important annual event. Each year, several thousand people contribute to the conservation or acquisition of major works of art such as the Winged Victory of Samothrace in 2013, King François I’s Book of Hours in 2018, the Apollo Kitharoidos in 2020, the Choiseul Snuffbox in 2023 or Basket of Strawberries in 2024. In 2025, donations and sponsorship helped to fund a unique campaign: restoring and installing new benches in the Tuileries Garden.
Your contribution to the Louvre is vital, and we offer you our sincerest thanks for your commitment to supporting the museum.
