Making culture accessible to all
As an institution whose mission includes the sharing of art and knowledge, the Louvre is committed to providing visitors with the keys to understanding and interpreting the world in which we live.
Our educational and cultural programmes play an essential role in providing a visitor experience which resonates with visitors from all over the world, of all ages, and from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.
More than a lieu de mémoire (a place of memory), the Louvre must also look outward and provide a space open to all where mutual understanding and knowledge meet.
When you support our outreach activities, whether they take place within the museum (guided tours, workshops, lectures) or outside its walls (travelling programmes, art library), you are directly contributing to making the Louvre’s collection more accessible for schoolchildren, families, and disadvantaged and marginalised communities.
Assisting our educational and cultural programmes means helping us to continue and expand our initiatives to reach a wider public.
